SA Pathology
Welcome to SA Pathology.
July 2008 signifies the beginning of a single statewide pathology
service. Executive Director Professor Ruth Salom, an Anatomical
Pathologist, heads the new service SA Pathology.
SA Pathology was formed by incorporating the State’s three
public pathology services, the Institute of Medical & Veterinary
Science (IMVS), SouthPath (the merged pathology services of Flinders
Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital) and the Women’s
& Children’s Hospital Division of Laboratory Medicine
(WCHDLM).
SA Pathology provides quality pathology services to medical practitioners
of South Australia and to all South Australian public hospitals
through a networked system of 18 laboratories, consisting of branch
laboratories in rural hospitals, general laboratories in large metropolitan
hospitals and specialist laboratories providing tertiary referral
and reference laboratory services. The strategic direction of SA
Pathology is to provide a ‘Quality Pathology Service Supporting
Training And Research”. |
