Dr Kerrie James

After graduation and internship, Dr Kerrie James trained in anatomical pathology at the IMVS. She subsequently obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Pathologists and joined the consultant staff of the IMVS and the Royal Adelaide Hospital as an affiliated consultant. Dr James undertook further training in cytopathology in Boston and at Duke University, North Carolina after which she obtained the Fellowship of the International Academy of Cytopathology.
She is a member of the Australian Society of Cytology and has previously served as state chairperson and as a clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Dr James worked at Breast Screen SA from its inception and then maintained involvement with breast pathology through the Women’s Health Centre at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Dr James has been a member of staff for nearly 30 years, with her major area of expertise being cytopathology with interests in pancreatic/biliary and head and neck pathology. She has had ongoing involvement with image guided and intraoperative fine needle aspirates.
