Dr Ketteridge was trained in general paediatrics and metabolic medicine at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital (now Women’s and Children’s Hospital) and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, North Wales, UK. He worked as a general paediatrician in Port Augusta prior to commencing at the WCH in 1994 in both general paediatrics and metabolic medicine.
He has continued to provide services in metabolic medicine, including working as Head of the unit, and also continues to work for the WCH in general paediatrics as a Staff Specialist Consultant Paediatrician
His research interests particularly include mucopolysaccharidosis type VI, and more broadly in cooperation with local, interstate and international colleagues. As part of the medical team in the Metabolic Unit, Dr Ketteridge also contributes to the care for a wide variety of patients with metabolic conditions, including other disorders treated with enzyme replacement.
