Dr Jan Liebelt completed undergraduate training at the University of Adelaide in 1993, with postgraduate studies in paediatrics and clinical genetics at the Women's and Children's Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospitals in Brisbane and Melbourne from 1993 to1999.
During this time, she also gained an MSc in Genetic Counseling through Griffith University, Brisbane. She undertook further training via the Fetal Medicine Foundation Kings College, London, to assist in her primary interest of prenatal genetics.
Dr Liebelt has worked as a Clinical Geneticist with the South Australian Clinical Genetics Service since 2001. Prior to taking up this position, she worked at the Victorian Clinical Genetics Service in Melbourne.
Her main areas of clinical and research interest include reproductive genetics (in association with the Repromed IVF unit in Adelaide), prenatal genetics and dysmorphology.
