Dr Saleem joined SA Pathology as a Consultant Chemical Pathologist in November 2010. After graduating from the University of Melbourne he trained in Chemical Pathology at Canterbury Health Laboratories (NZ) and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, attaining FRCPA (Chem Path) in January 2010.
He then spent 10 months at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane as a Clinical Research Fellow researching therapeutic drug monitoring of chemotherapy drugs used in breast cancer. He also worked as a Sessional Chemical Pathologist with a private pathology provider in Queensland before joining IMVS.
Dr Saleem has particular interests in therapeutic drug monitoring and educational activities. He enjoys the interaction with clinicians in providing advice in biochemical test selection and interpretation as part of the 24-hour phone service offered by SA Pathology. He is also a member of the Association of Clinical Biochemists of Australasia.
