Dr Jorgensen graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide in 1987 and undertook postgraduate training in anatomical pathology at Flinders Medical Centre and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and was appointed as a Consultant Tissue Pathologist for the IMVS in 1995.
Her work with the IMVS includes a six-year term as tissue pathologist at the Mount Gambier Hospital between 2001 and 2006. Dr Jorgensen handles all general histopathology and cytopathology cases with some interest in endocrine, head and neck, breast and skin pathology.
