Dr Ming Qiao has worked in the IMVS for more than 20 years and has extensive experience in the field of microbiology, virology and infectious diseases. She provides a consultative service in clinical microbiology and virology with special interests in respiratory viruses, viral hepatitis, HIV and new diagnostic investigations for infectious diseases.
Dr Qiao is the Director of Microbiology at Lyell McEwin Hospital. She contributes to the training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and is an honorary consultant specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Dr Qiao maintains her research interests in hepatitis B and C and more recently in the vaccine development for viral diseases and vaccine clinical trials. She has been actively involved in health promotion through GP education programs and the IMVS Newsletter and has been an editor of the IMVS Newsletter Committee since 2006.
