Dr Tallis is a graduate of the University of Adelaide Medical School, and trained in internal medicine and chemical pathology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and IMVS. He is a recipient of a National Heart Foundation Overseas Travelling Fellowship and undertook lipid research at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA in 1991.
He was appointed as Consultant in Clinical Biochemistry at Flinders Medical Centre in 1992 before being appointed in 1994 as a Consultant on the Endocrine Unit, where he consults in the Endocrine, Diabetes and Lipid Clinics. He also consults in private for Endocrine SA at the Tennyson Centre.
Dr Tallis has particular interests in endocrine hypertension and lipidology. He enjoys providing interpretative advice in biochemistry and endocrinology, and his background as a practising clinician enables a sensible discussion of laboratory results as well as provision of relevant management advice.
