Changes to SA Pathology Collection Centres

Changes to some SA Pathology Collection Centres are planned for 30 September 2019, with five sites to close and opening hours adjusted at 20 locations.

The alternative SA Pathology collection centres are located within 3 km of each of the closing centres.

SA Pathology regularly reviews collection centres as part of normal business. In the last five years, 10 centres have closed and another 23 have opened.

This year, two new collection centres have opened at Port Adelaide and Mount Gambier and another new collection centre will open in October in South Tce in Adelaide.

Opening Hours changes

From Monday 30 September 2019, the opening hours of 20 centres will change to better reflect patient attendances.  More than 75% of patients attend our collection centres before midday on weekdays. A number of centres will open 30 minutes earlier each weekday morning from 7am to manage the morning peak and close 30 to 90 minutes earlier – at midday instead of 12:30-2pm.

‘Hub’ sites will extend opening hours to a full day from 7:30am to 4pm.
