Changes to SA Pathology Collection Centres

On 28 September 2019 SA Pathology will close five of its collection centres and change the opening hours at another 20 centres.

Opening Hours changes

From Monday 30 September 2019, the opening hours of 20 centres will change to better reflect patient attendances.  Some collection centres will close an hour or two earlier while other centres will extend their hours to perform patient data entry into our system so our labs can more easily process and track samples.

The busiest times for collection centres are in the mornings, with 75 percent of collections occurring prior to 12.30pm each weekday. The changes to opening hours reflect that, with some sites that have low volume after midday planning to reduce their hours.

SA Pathology regularly reviews collection centres as part of normal business. In the last five years, 10 centres have closed and another 23 have opened.

This year three new collection centres have opened at Port Adelaide, Mount Gambier and South Terrace Adelaide.
