Attend a collection centre
From 1 January 2024, a GP referral is required to access PCR testing for COVID-19.
PCR swab collection for full panel respiratory testing, including COVID-19 is available at select collection centres in the metropolitan area and across regional South Australia.
If you test positive using a rapid antigen test, you must report your result to SA Health. Positive RAT results do not need to be confirmed with a PCR test.
To ensure the health and safety of all persons accessing our services, we maintain strict infection control measures which includes the wearing of masks while in our collection centres.
Self-collect
Self-collected PCR swabs for full panel respiratory testing provide a safe, fast and reliable way to diagnose respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. Self-collect kits are available from your GP.
Self-collect specimens must be accompanied by a GP request form.
